Our Horse Riding Lessons For Children In Leicester focuses on tackling two key issues - cost and accessibility. We believe every child from the age of 3 should have access to the world of equestrianism. Our focus is developing them in every aspect of horse riding, horse care and equestrian sports. We also focus on the history of equestrianism, where we hold theory sessions as part of one of our programmes/services. Our horse riding lessons take place in top riding schools in Leicestershire. The safety of every child is our top priority. Our staff are friendly, highly trained and have a passion for everything equestrian.
We provide the following programmes/services:
- Mini Me Pony Sessions (3-5 year olds)
- Azeezah's Junior Pony Club (6-12 year olds)
- Neetz Ride Too (16-18 year olds who are not in education, employment or training)
- Private Horse Riding Lessons For Children (for all ages)

The Urban Equestrian Academy believe that you are never too young to start connecting with horses and explore horse riding in Leicester. We are there every step of the way. If it is your child's first contact with a horse, we understand it could be a very daunting experience. We are there to support and encourage them throughout this experience of self-discovery. Horses are magnificent and intuitive animals. Our horse riding lessons are in a safe and friendly environment - where safety is always our biggest priority. We have been privileged to see the progression of many children in Leicester ride horses. They enjoy being around horses, being out in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside, making new friends and excelling in riding.
Children can benefit from horse riding lessons by:
- experiencing an improvement in their cognitive abilities such as enhancement to their learning and memory
- an improvement to their confidence and self-esteem
- Experiencing a relaxing activity that aids the wellness of their mind and body; especially their emotional wellbeing. Horses are very sensitive animals who are very responsive to people's emotions.
- experiencing learning in a different environment to school or home.

MINI ME PONY SESSIONS
Our Mini Me Pony Sessions are for to 3-5-year-olds in Leicester who want to enter the world of equestrianism. Our pony sessions are a safe, interactive, and fun rewarding programme. Our equestrian team fully understands the pace, challenges and fears our Mini Me members have. The safety of all children who attend our sessions is of the utmost importance to us. We always re-evaluate our policies when it comes to everything regarding safety and risk assessment.
Our sessions un bi–weekly on a Sunday afternoon. Each session consists of:

A 25 minute Horse Care session
- A 25 minute Pony Ride.
Time: The sessionruns between 2.00pm and 3.00pm.
Transport:
Our minibus service departs from the African Caribbean Centre (Maidstone Rd, Leicester, LE2 0UA at 1.30pm.
We also stop en-route to the stables - this is all part of the service.
Parents must to attend this session due to the age of the kids involved.
Price: The price for this service :
- £16 per session
or
- £32 a month.
AZEEZAH'S JUNIOR PONY CLUB
Azeezah’s Junior Pony Club (A.J.P.C.) is our groundbreaking equestrian programme/service for young people aged 6 to 12 years. We want our pony club is to create a new, talented generation of equestrian superstars. Each pony club member has the opportunity to develop social skills, work on their confidence, discipline, health and self-esteem through learning 'All Things Equestrian’. Our service involves fun activities relating to horses and ponies. Apart from horse riding lessons, they will engage in stable management and horse care.
Azeezah’s Junior Pony Club consists of three strands:
1) The Pony Club (which runs during term time)
2) Pony Playschemes
3) Pony Camps/Residentials.
This fantastic initiative is our first of many and was created to address the need for a more inclusive and diverse younger audience within the UK’s equestrian world.
Day - This service runs after school every Thursday after school from 5.30pm.
If you become a REGISTERED MEMBER of the ‘TERM TIME PROGRAMME’ you qualify for special offers and discounts on A.J.P.C services.
Price - £28 per child per month.
NEETZ RIDE TOO
Through specialist equine assisted learning/therapy and also mentoring, our programme provides a pathway of personal development for 16-18-year-olds, changing their lives for the better. If they are not in any form of education, employment or training then our service is built towards enhancing their lives and opportunities. Horse therapy has been used for thousands of years. Horses are very graceful and honest creatures. They have the ability to read and mirror human emotions. Within the core framework of our structured program, horses will be the main focal point to foster positive change in their lives. Horse riding lessons for teenagers in Leicester needs to become more accessible. The Urban Equestrian Academy is striving for such change on a daily basis.

PRIVATE LESSONS
The Urban Equestrian Academy focuses on providing opportunities for children in Leicester to excel in horse riding. When they find love for horse riding, that should be able to blossom. Our private horse riding lessons in Leicester for kids are safe and delivered by experienced experts. We use top riding centres in Leicestershire, where all facilities and staff are of the highest quality. We also provide individual and group hacks. You will experience beautiful trails where children have the opportunity to experience the fantastic Leicestershire countryside while riding.
