These courses delves into the Quran and Sunnah for evidence in relation to the importance of horses to mankind, often presenting this animal as a gift/ mercy from God. We look at the history of the Horse from an ‘Islamic Point of View’, the benefits of ‘Working with Equines’ and ‘Look into a viable Career working in the Equine Industry’ as Muslim’s. All this whilst engaging in ‘Horse Riding’ and ‘Equine Husbandry’. We are currently running pilot courses with the aim to gain feedback as we are constantly looking to improve. Our vision is to provide this course nationwide and worldwide. For full details of how you can be one of the first schools or organisations to officially join this course in September, please call us on 07479 708009 or email us at

Allah’s messenger (peace be upon him) said:

There is always goodness in horses till the Day of Resurrection” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Particularly amongst Muslims in the Western World ‘Horse Riding’ is an almost forgotten Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed. Urban Equestrian aims to revive this fantastic hobby amongst the Ummah living in the West by creating access/ pathways into the Equestrian Industry by liaising with our local riding venues and equestrian centres around the country, nationally through uniquely structured innovative equestrian programmes and courses.

For certainly and I quote the Prophet Muhammed also said:

Everything with which a man amuses himself is vain except three things): a man’s training of his horse, his playing with his wife and his shooting with his bow and arrow (Abu Dawud)

The history of the horse itself is fascinating when perceived from an Islamic Viewpoint. Worldwide there are over 350 different breeds of Horses and Ponies all with unique characteristics, but how many of us knew that all these breeds stem from one breed; The Arabian!!

And (He created) the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and (as) adornment. And He creates that which you do not know (Quran: Chapter 16, Verse 8)

Our course delivers a structured, progressive and informative formal learning program. Our informal/formal learning is informative, engaging and progressive. In line with Islamic teaching we take the opportunity to take an in-depth look at the history of equestrianism, leading right the way up to the present day.
